Long Term Goal

During its 22 years of operation, the NNC has relocated five times. These relocations have caused a significant loss of time and financial expenditure for moving, repairs and remodeling.

Operational protocols and programs had to be reorganized. Relocating precipitated loss or disruption of donations and Grants from tourists and Organizations. It is the strong desire and goal of NNC to acquire either a piece of land to build on or an existing structure for a new center to achieve long-term stability and a self-reliant Program.

Attempts at leasing public land have failed because NNC is a private organization and does not meet the Government Criteria as a public institution and land will not be granted to a private organization.
Property has been obtained and we are currently seeking funds for construction of a new Center, NNC Hope Tower. Further information on the building plans can be obtained on the News page.

The following Long Term Goals will require a rent-free, permanent structure:
1) New suitable structure (adequate size, accessibility and necessary features)
2) Expand Language/Literacy Program (for elderly and deaf students)
3) Provide a designated Area for Coffee Book (Coffee Café with menus in sign language for interaction and integration of deaf students with the community)
4) Clinic Room to examine and treat minor health issues
5) Further develop the Tourist Tour Project to Traditional Village and Historical Sites.
6) Continue the Music Band Class for blind students.

A new structure will also provide the following benefits:
1) No Rent
2) Stabilize the NNC Program
3) Encourage further integration with the Community
4) Develop additional careers and jobs
5) Provide assistance to more people
